MEET DR. LAVERY

Dr. John Lavery is a Board Certified Rheumatologist specializing in musculoskeletal conditions and rheumatologic disorders including fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, lupus, and rheumatic arthritis.

Dr. Lavery has more than 20 years of clinical experience, practicing in Allen since 2000. Dr. Lavery offers patients a wide range of treatment options, including ultrasound-guided injections, cold laser therapy and autoimmune nervous system testing.

Investigational drug studies are also provided in his office to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of new medications. Ongoing clinical studies include investigational medications for rheumatoid arthritis, SLE (lupus), overactive bladder and lower back pain.

Dr. Lavery completed both an Allergy Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Memphis Tennessee and a Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas. He completed his residency at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland where he was selected Chief Resident. Dr. Lavery has board certification in Internal Medicine, Allergy and Immunology, and in Rheumatology. He has authored a book chapter, numerous scientific articles and presented before many medical conferences.

Dr. Lavery is an attending physician at Texas Health Resources Allen and the Medical Center of Plano. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, Texas Allergy and Immunology Society, Texas Pain Society, American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine, and the Texas Medical Association. Locally, he is a delegate and member of the Collin County Medical Society and has been active in the Collin County Project Access to bring healthcare to the indigent.
